In order to receive computers, reBOOT Canada asks each recipient to:

  • complete the application form
  • pay an administrative fee for each system received
  • issue a thank you letter to the original donor of the computer equipment you received and send a copy of it to reBOOT New Brunswick
  • pick up or arrange shipping of donated computer equipment

The administrative fees that are charged for the equipment allow us to maintain and grow our service to the non-profit community.

The type of system you should choose depends on your computing needs. Listed below are the systems available, a description of each systems components, and what tasks each system can best accomplish.

All systems include a 17" monitor, a keyboard, a mouses, and an on-board network card and sound card. There are no dial-up modems or speakers included. All systems come pre-installed with Windows 2000 and Office 2000.

System 1

This system is perfect for those who need a base model computer to send email, browse the Internet, and use Office applications such as Word and Excel. It features the following components:

  • Pentium II 400 Mhz
  • 128 MB RAM
  • 6 Gigabyte Hard drive
  • Price: $110

System 2

This system features a Pentium III processor which will give you a bit more speed. It will do all the things that System # 1 will do. The main advantage with this sytem is the ability to open multiple programs at the same time without a drastic reduction in productivity. This system features the following components:

  • Pentium III 500 Mhz
  • 128 MB RAM
  • 6 Gigabyte Hard drive
  • Price: $180

System 3

There is hardly a noticable difference between this system and System #2. The only difference is a 600 Mhz processor instead of 500Mhz, and a slightly larger hard drive. This system features the following components:

  • Pentium III 600 Mhz
  • 128 MB RAM
  • 8 Gigabyte Hard drive
  • Price: $200

System 4

This system is geared more towards those working with memory intesive programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator, or other multimedia programs. This system will also allow you to work with several programs at once. This system features the following components:

  • Pentium III 733 Mhz
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 10 Gigabyte Hard drive
  • Price: $265
