Easter Seals New Brunswick Annual General Meeting
Easter Seals New Brunswick is a bilingual, not-for-profit organization, working in partnership with persons with disabilities, enabling them to attain independence and equality of opportunity available in their communities.
At the recent Annual General Meeting of Easter Seals New Brunswick held at St. John Anglican Church, 75 Main Street, Fredericton, Doug Bridgman was elected President of Easter Seals NB.
Newly elected President Doug Bridgman joined the Board of Easter Seals in March 2008, although has been very active in the Community prior to this appointment. He is a Past President of the Canadian Paraplegic Association, the New Brunswick Wheelchair Sports Association, and the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work. In September 2009, Doug Bridgman helped establish the Brunswick Accessible Taxi (the 'BAT Mobile' ) which is the first wheelchair accessible taxi service operating in the Greater Fredericton area.
Outgoing President Glen Hughes congratulated the new President on his appointment and confirmed that 2010 had been a successful and exciting year for the organization. He also made the following observation about his three year term, "Easter Seals New Brunswick is an organization which includes many individuals who are dedicated to improving the life for people with disabilities in New Brunswick. Having had the opportunity to thank Linda Melanson for over 30 years of service to the organization, as well as the presentation of awards of merit to Suzanne Jones, Dr. Bruce Lockhart, Lazare Breau and several other strong supporters of Easter Seals New Brunswick are specific highlights of my term as President."
